Austin, Texas · October 3—5
A little Europe.
A little us.
Our babymoon & first anniversary
at Commodore Perry Estate
Sagar & Mital
Ten acres. A world away.
Europe,
without the flight.
Terracotta rooftops. Sun-warmed arches. A garden that seemed to go on forever. Somehow, we were still in Austin.
For three days, our world became a beautiful old mansion, long breakfasts, and a pool we almost couldn’t believe was ours. A year married. A baby on the way. So much to celebrate.
We could have stayed forever.
Chapter I · October 3
A beautiful arrival.
Checking in, slowing down, and falling a little in love with the place.
At home in the mansion
One room lovelier than the next. We wandered, settled in, and let the evening arrive.
Our first evening
Dinner
at the Mansion.
A table for two. Something delicious. No particular place to be afterward.
The loveliest beginning.
Chapter II · October 4
One yearmarried
One year of us.
Our first anniversary. And the sweetest little reason to dream about what comes next.
A very good morning
Breakfast,
under the arches.
Back to the Mansion, back to a beautiful table. The kind of morning you want to stretch out as long as possible.
Do not disturb
A pool of our own.
Striped umbrellas, blue water, and a whole afternoon with nowhere else to be.
Every arch, every corner.
Something beautiful to come back to.
Our anniversary evening
A candlelit
table at Lutie’s.
Green velvet, flowers overhead, and one course after another. A dinner that felt like a celebration from beginning to end.
To our first year.
And everything ahead.
One year down. Our favorite chapter still to come.
Chapter III · October 5
Just one more day.
A slow morning, a last swim, and a little adventure beyond the gates.
The long way back
A stroll through the grounds.
Past the fountain. Along the hedges. Stopping whenever the light was too beautiful to keep walking.
Still Austin. Somehow.
One more dip.
Because leaving this pool without another swim would have been impossible.
Beyond the estate gates
The keys to
a little adventure.
We borrowed an estate car and made an afternoon of Austin.
First stop · Mozart’s
Coffee
by the lake.
A lakeside table, a little something sweet, and a view worth lingering over.
Next stop · Mayfield Park
A garden detour.
Water, flowers, and another excuse to wander.
Last stop · Aba
One last lovely dinner.
A little more celebrating before we called it a night.
Our little escape
We came for a babymoon.
We left with a memory.
Three days. One beautiful estate.
A year of marriage, and a whole new adventure ahead.
